Subscription Terms
How Fondfully Plus is sold, billed, renewed and canceled through the App Store and Google Play, and what happens when Plus ends.
The short version
- Plus Yearly renews automatically every year until you cancel. Plus Lifetime is paid once and never renews.
- Apple or Google bills you. The store shows the exact price in your currency before you confirm.
- Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Plus keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.
- If Plus ends, nothing in your vault is deleted. You go back to the free plan's features.
1. About these terms
These Subscription Terms are part of our Terms of Service. They apply to Fondfully Plus, whether you buy it, receive it through Family Sharing or a code, or we grant it to you.
When you buy Plus, your purchase is also governed by the terms of the store you buy from: the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions for the App Store, or the Google Play Terms of Service for Google Play. On matters of billing, payment and refunds, the store's terms apply.
2. The plans
- Plus Yearly is an automatically renewing subscription, billed once a year.
- Plus Lifetime is a one-time purchase that gives Plus for as long as we offer Fondfully. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Fondfully service, not of any person or device.
Plus currently includes: unlimited people; sync between your devices; receipts and return-window reminders; memories with photos; gift briefs for family; and on iPhone, a second backup to Google Drive. Section 13 explains how Plus can change.
3. Prices and taxes
At launch, Plus Yearly costs US$19.99 a year and Plus Lifetime costs US$49.99, in the United States. Prices in other countries and currencies are set in each store and may differ. The App Store or Google Play shows the exact price, including or adding taxes as local law requires, before you confirm your purchase. We may offer promotional prices from time to time.
4. Automatic renewal (Plus Yearly)
Please read this section before you subscribe.
- Plus Yearly is a continuing subscription that renews automatically for further one-year periods until you cancel it.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google account when you confirm your purchase.
- Each renewal is charged at the then-current price, which the store shows you. On the App Store, the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before your current period ends. On Google Play, it's charged on the renewal date shown in your Google Play subscriptions.
- To avoid being charged for the next year, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of your current period.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Plus keeps working until then, and you won't be charged again.
- You can cancel any time, online, using the steps in section 5.
By tapping Continue on the Plus screen and confirming the purchase with Apple or Google, you agree to these automatic renewal terms. The store sends you a receipt for your purchase and each renewal. You can read these terms any time in the app under Settings › About, and at fondfully.com. Where the law in your state or country requires it, we'll also remind you before your subscription renews.
5. How to cancel
On iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Fondfully.
- Tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm.
You can also open the App Store app, tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions. On a Mac, open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings, and find Subscriptions.
On Android:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Fondfully.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the steps.
You can also cancel on the web at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, signed in to the Google account you used.
From Fondfully: open Settings › Membership › Manage subscription, which takes you to the store's subscription page.
Store menus change from time to time; Apple's and Google's help pages have their latest steps.
Please note:
- Deleting the app, or your Fondfully account, does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store.
- We can't cancel a store subscription for you, because Apple and Google manage billing.
- When you cancel, you won't get a refund for the rest of the current period, except where the law or the store's policy provides one. See our Refund Policy.
- Plus Lifetime doesn't renew, so there's nothing to cancel.
- You can subscribe again at any time.
6. Price changes
We may change the price of Plus Yearly for future renewal periods. We'll never change the price of a period you've already paid for. Before a price increase applies to you, Apple or Google will notify you as their rules and the law require, and where required, they'll ask for your agreement; if you don't agree, your subscription won't renew at the new price. You can always cancel before the new price takes effect.
7. Free trials and introductory offers
We don't currently offer free trials. If we offer a free trial or an introductory price in the future, the store will show its length and the price that applies afterward before you confirm. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or introductory period ends, your subscription will continue at the regular price, and you'll be charged when that period ends. Stores may limit trials to one per person.
8. Family Sharing (iPhone)
If you buy Plus on the App Store and Family Sharing is turned on for the purchase, members of your Apple Family Sharing group can use Plus too. Each family member uses their own Fondfully account and keeps their own private vault; Family Sharing shares the membership, never your vault. If you cancel, stop sharing purchases, or someone leaves your family group, their access through Family Sharing ends. Purchases made on Google Play can't be shared through Family Sharing.
9. Codes and Plus we grant
- We may offer codes for Plus, redeemed in Settings › Membership › Redeem a code or on the Plus screen. A code gives Plus for the time stated when it's issued, or with no end date if it says so.
- Codes have no cash value, can't be exchanged or refunded, aren't for resale, and may have a deadline for redeeming. Unless it says otherwise, each code can be used once, by one account.
- We may also give Plus to an account directly, for example while we help with a store problem.
- Redeeming a code doesn't pause or cancel a store subscription. If you have both, manage the subscription in the store.
- We may cancel codes, or Plus obtained with them, that were obtained fraudulently or in breach of our Terms.
10. Your plan belongs to your account
- Plus is attached to the Fondfully account you're signed in to when you buy, restore or redeem it. It works on every iPhone or Android device where you sign in to that account.
- One purchase unlocks Plus for one Fondfully account, plus family members through Family Sharing on iPhone. A purchase made while signed in to one Fondfully account can't be moved to another.
- If Plus doesn't appear, use Settings › Membership › Restore purchases, signed in to the store account you bought with.
- If you delete your Fondfully account, Plus on that account ends and we can't move it to a new account. Cancel any subscription in the store before you delete.
11. Payment problems
If a renewal payment fails, Apple or Google may keep trying to collect it for a while. Where the store offers a grace period, Plus keeps working during it. If payment can't be collected, Plus ends and your account moves to the free plan.
12. What happens when Plus ends
Whether your subscription lapses, you cancel, a purchase is refunded or a code runs out:
- Nothing in your vault is deleted.
- People: everyone you've added stays. To add new people while you have 5 or more, you'll need Plus again.
- Sync: sync between devices pauses. Your vault keeps backing up from one device, and you can still restore it.
- Receipts: your receipts stay, and you can view and export them. Scanning new receipts and return-window reminders are part of Plus.
- Memories: your memory photos stay. Adding new photos is part of Plus; memory notes are always free.
- Gift briefs: briefs you've already sent keep working until they expire, and you can still stop sharing them. Sending new briefs is part of Plus.
- Second backup on iPhone: the extra copy in Google Drive stops updating. It stays in your Drive until you delete it.
If you get Plus again, these features come back.
13. How Plus can change
We may add features to Plus, and improve or change the ones it has. If we ever significantly reduce what Plus includes, we'll tell you in advance. If you're on Plus Yearly, you can cancel before the change takes effect, and you may be eligible for a refund where the law or the store's policy provides one. If you bought Plus Lifetime, we'll keep providing the Plus features listed in section 2, or equivalent ones, for as long as we offer Fondfully. If we ever stop offering Fondfully altogether, we'll give at least 90 days' notice so you can export your vault.
14. Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. Our Refund Policy explains how to ask for one, and how we can help.
