Finding your way around

Fondfully has five tabs along the bottom of the screen. Everything else opens from one of them.

The five tabs

• Home: what's coming up and what needs you next.
• Calendar: every occasion, month by month.
• People: everyone you shop for, with their sizes, loves and dates.
• Ideas: every idea and gift, grouped by person.
• Vault: your receipts and your memories.

Home at a glance

The top of Home shows today's date, a greeting and a quick summary, like "3 occasions in the next six weeks." When every upcoming occasion has a gift chosen or further along, it adds "You are in good shape." Otherwise it tells you how many people still need ideas.

Below that:

• Up next is the nearest occasion, with a big countdown, how many ideas you have, the budget and how many gifts are bought. Tap Plan it to open the occasion plan, or Add idea to tuck one away with the person and occasion already filled in.
• Coming up shows the next five occasions after that, each with "in N days". Tap Calendar to see everything.
• Tuck away an idea… is the capture bar. Tap it to write an idea down, or tap the camera, link or mic to start straight in that mode.
• The budget card shows spending for the nearest occasion that has a budget, or your total for the year. Tap See budgets for the full picture.

Now and then Home shows a short card from us, like news about an update. Dismiss it when you've read it. After an update, a "What's new" note may appear once.

Just getting started? Home offers Add someone and Import birthdays until you've added your first person.

Adding things

The + button at the top right adds something new:

• On Calendar, a new occasion.
• On People, a new person.
• On Ideas, a new idea.

In the Vault, receipts start from Scan a receipt.

Settings

Tap the gear at the top right of Home. Settings is one list, grouped into Account, Membership, Sync & backup, Appearance, Notifications, Privacy & security, Shopping, Help and About. Themes, widgets and settings has a tour.

Sheets

Some things open as a sheet that slides up over the screen: tucking away an idea, sharing a gift brief, and editing a person or an occasion.

• On iPhone, swipe the sheet down to close it.
• On Android, drag the sheet down by its handle, or use your phone's back gesture.

Getting help

Many screens have a ? button at the top. It opens the part of this manual about that screen.

To browse everything, open Settings, then Help, then User manual. Search finds topics that contain all the words you type, so searching "return window" finds the topic about receipts. The manual is built into the app, so it works without a connection. You can also read it at fondfully.com/manual.

Working offline

Your vault lives on your phone, so Fondfully works without a connection. Add people, tuck away ideas and move gifts along wherever you are.

If Fondfully can't reach the internet, you may see "Couldn't reach Fondfully. Your changes are safe on this phone." Your changes back up to your cloud once you're online again. A few things need a connection: signing in, changing your password, buying Plus and sharing a gift brief.

Made to fit you

Fondfully follows your phone's settings:

• Text size. Larger text makes cards grow instead of cutting words off.
• VoiceOver and TalkBack. Every icon button has a spoken label.
• Reduce motion. The floating parcel on the welcome screen stays still and cards stop sliding.
• Light and dark. Fondfully matches your phone unless you pick a theme in Settings.
