Themes, widgets and settings

Light or dark, the Coming up widget, the quickest way to tuck away an idea, and a tour of Settings.

Make Fondfully feel like yours, and put it where you'll use it.

Theme

Open Settings, then Appearance, then Theme:

  • System follows your phone's light or dark setting. It's the default.
  • Light stays light.
  • Dark stays dark.

Week start

The calendar starts each week on Sunday. To start on Monday, open Settings, then Appearance, and change Week starts on.

Currency

Open Settings, then Shopping, then Currency to choose your main currency. It starts as US dollars. Budgets add up in this currency. A gift priced in a different currency is left out of budget totals and marked, so you can see why.

The Coming up widget

Put your next occasions on your home screen:

  • Small shows a countdown to your next occasion.
  • Medium shows your next three, with a Tuck away an idea button.

Tap the widget to open that occasion's plan.

On iPhone:

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit, then Add Widget. On some versions of iOS, tap + instead.
  3. Search for Fondfully and choose Coming up.
  4. Pick small or medium, then tap Add Widget.

On Android:

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen.
  2. Tap Widgets.
  3. Find Fondfully.
  4. Touch and hold Coming up, then drag it where you'd like it.
  5. To see your next three, touch and hold the widget, then drag its edges to make it wider.

The steps vary a little between phones.

The Tuck away an idea shortcut

The quickest way to catch an idea is a shortcut that opens the capture sheet straight away.

  • On iPhone: in the Shortcuts app, find Fondfully's Tuck away an idea action. Add it to your Home Screen, or on iPhones with an Action button, assign it there.
  • On Android: touch and hold the Fondfully icon and choose Tuck away an idea. Drag it onto your home screen to keep it there.

Notifications

Open Settings, then Notifications to choose which reminders you get, how many days ahead, and at what time. Reminders and notifications has the details.

A tour of Settings

Tap the gear on Home to open Settings:

  • Account: your name, email and sign-in methods, password, signed-in devices, sign out and delete account.
  • Membership: your plan, upgrade, restore purchases, manage your subscription and redeem a code.
  • Sync & backup: your cloud, backup status, recovery code, passphrase and restore.
  • Appearance: theme and week start.
  • Notifications: reminders, reminder time and check-ins.
  • Privacy & security: app lock, usage statistics, crash reports, what we store and where, export and import.
  • Shopping: "Support Fondfully when you shop" and your currency.
  • Help: the user manual, report a problem, contact us, suggest a feature, your messages and shared briefs.
  • About: the app version, legal documents and open-source licenses.

Your theme, currency, week start and reminder choices are part of your vault. With sync on, they follow you to your other devices.
